Obituary of Robert C. Dimond

Robert C. Dimond Bob passed away in his home on July 17, 2010. He was born to Fred & Clara Dimond on December 9, 1924, in Tacoma, WA. He attended Lincoln H.S. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army/Pacific Theatre. When he returned home, he married Dorothy Cleary and they had four children together. Later, he married Val Kirkevold, and together, they owned Fashion Cleaners & Tux Shop. Bob was past President of the Lincoln, Tacoma S.E. Lions and a member of the Elk's Club. He enjoyed his lunches with the Old Jock's Club. He was a charter member and first president of the congregation of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Bob's joys were his family, friends, golfing, gardening & fishing. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Val Dimond; brother, Fred Dimond, Jr; sisters Helen Tuttle & Marilyn Brissett; and daughter, Denise Kitchel. Bob is survived by his son David (Debbie) Dimond, daughters, Debbie (Larry) Burrill & Diane (Paul) Shenkyr. Stepchildren, Ron (Dee) Kirkevold, Julie (Mike) Aaron, and Rick (Cheryl) Kirkevold. 16 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010, from 1-4 p.m. at the Larchmont Community Church of the Brethren, 324 E. 84th St, Tacoma, WA.
