Obituary of William J. Charette

William J. "Jim" Charette Born June 7, 1925 in Aberdeen, WA; died May 14, 2009 in Tacoma. Predeceased by parents Phillip and Eva (Kendall) Charette, sister Marian, brothers Phillip (Bus) and Robert. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley (Siegler), sister Phyllis Rayburn, and several nieces and nephews. Graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen and served in the Army in WWII. Jim was a born salesman, and retired from General Mills after 32 years. He was past president of Toastmasters #13 and Tacoma Narrows Rotary, where he led the birthday singing. He was active in Democratic politics, from Precinct Committeeman to County Chairman. He was one of the first soccer coaches in University Place, and coached the famous "Wildcats" of U.P. His beach house at Westport, which he built, was where he liked to spend his free time. There will be no service.
