Obituary of Virgil John Case
Virgil John Case On May 26, 2007, Jesus reached for our beloved father, grandfather, and devoted husband Virgil John Case and took him home. Virgil, or Bud, as he was known to most of us, was born in Chicago, IL on May 29, 1924. Not long after his 18th birthday, on July 2, 1942, Bud enlisted in the US Navy. It was while attending a Naval school in Miami FL that he met the love of his life, Lucille Pearl Matthews. The two were married on August 23, 1947, and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Bud retired from the Navy after 20 years of service, and then worked for the FAA in Auburn for another 18 years, before he retired from there at the age of 55 with a total of 38 years of Civil Service. Bud is not only survived by his treasured wife Lucy Pearl, but also by his children, Irene Case, Greg Case, and Patty Lundgren and her husband Reese, his grandchildren Greg Shea, Jim Case, and Nadine and Kayla Lundgren. Bud will be greatly missed and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye.
