Obituary of Amelia Nell Ryncarz Carrell

Amelia was born in Tacoma, WA on Jan. 5, 1917 and died in Santa Rosa, CA on May 10, 2010. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing. After graduation, she nursed in Aberdeen and Tacoma. Just after World War II ended she met and married Col. Charles Carrell, a West Point Graduate and a highly decorated veteran. They moved to San Francisco, CA where he worked in Real Estate and she continued nursing. After retiring in Santa Rosa, they traveled extensively. Amelia was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed for her nursing spirit, her sense of humor and her devotion to her family and friends in good times and bad. She was a loving wife, sister and aunt, and now she is reunited with her best friend and husband, her beloved Charlie, and her sister Elizabeth Chapin. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary was held Saturday in Santa Rosa, CA. A rosary will be recited 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Visitation Catholic Church. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Tacoma, WA.
