Obituary of Katy Broz

Katy Broz Age 100 passed away July 19, 2007. She was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on December 1, 1906 and raised in Starigrad on the Dalmation coast of Croatia until the age of 13 when the family returned to the U.S. and settled in Tacoma. There were 6 children in her family: Katy, Jerry, and Ted were born to mother Jeroma & Bartol Lucich; Robert, Helen and Rachel were born to aunt and stepmother Rachel & Bartol Lucich. Katy is preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Broz, her son Fred Broz, and her son-in-law Rolf Wemhoener. She is survived by her daughters Jeroma Wemhoener and Elizabeth Holmquist (Joseph). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Katy was a wonderful homemaker and loved gardening. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church in Tacoma. Arrangements entrusted to Piper-Morley-Mellinger Funeral Home, 253-472-3353.
