Obituary of Dorothy Elaine Brown
Dorothy passed away suddenly on September 16, 2011. Born February 26, 1957 in Tacoma, Dorothy graduated from Visitation School, Bellarmine Prep, TCC, and The Burnley School of Art. She worked for many years in graphic arts at Graphics Seattle and Outdoor Empire Publishing (Fishing and Hunting News.) Most recently she was a substitute office professional with Tacoma Public Schools. Dorothy was an avid fan of the Seattle Mariners and the Seattle Sonics. She enjoyed viewing and attending U.S. Figure Skating competitions. She loved to create arts and crafts and was known for her handmade Christmas cards and personalized dough ornaments. Dorothy was an avid collector of Wizard of Oz dolls and memorabilia, Barbies and Liddle Kiddles. She was known for her beautiful OOAK (one of a kind) Barbies. She was the secretary of the Tacoma Fashion Doll Club. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and May Brown, Dorothy is survived by 2 sisters Marian (Bill) and Jeannie, brother Joe (Kami), 5 nephews Joshua, Matt, Adam and Nathan Brown, and Billy Barker, 2 nieces Amy Brown and Emily Barker, and many friends. Rosary tonight, Wednesday, at 7:00 p. m. at Piper Morley Mellinger Funeral Home; Funeral Mass Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Tacoma.
