Obituary of Louisa Mae Alvey
Louisa Mae Alvey Age 79, passed away Oct. 24, 2008 in Tacoma. Louisa was born Sept. 23, 1929 at Tacoma General Hospital to Roy and Dora (Bowers) Payne. She attended Lincoln High School. Louisa worked for 10 years at Wellman's Catering on the tide flats. In the picture above Louisa is on the left and her sister Donna is on the right. Louisa and her mother Dora owned Don's Tavern on Tacoma Ave. South off Eleventh Street for 25 years during the 60's and 70's. She was in the bartender's local for over 30 years. She is survived by her husband Jerry Alvey, USN Retired, sister Donna (and Ralph) Shoemaker of Roseville, CA, friends Jerry and Norma Dennewith of Tacoma, Frederica and Muriel Tolerico of Tacoma, Violet Dacanay of Tacoma, brother-in-law Jim Alvey of Parkland, uncle T.G.
