Obituary of Jerry P. Alvey

Jerry was born in Carthage, South Dakota, the fifth of six children. Orphaned at a very early age, Jerry attended grade school at Presentation Children's Home, Sioux Falls, SD and attended high school at Boys Town, NB. He joined the US Navy in October 1948. After serving at various bases and air stations stateside, Japan and Spain, and aboard ships in the Pacific Fleet, Jerry retired from the Navy in 1968 as CPO. Between 1970 and 1988 Jerry worked in the operations of the computer centers of Pacific Lutheran University and for Pierce County, WA. In August of 1972 Jerry married Louisa M. Forrest (nee Payne). Louisa was born and raised in Tacoma. She passed away October 24, 2008. Jerry is survived by numerous nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces. At his request, no formal services will be held.
