Obituary of Genevieve Agnes Hoffman

Genevieve Agnes (McCarthy)Hoffman Jan. 3, 1909 to Mar. 14, 2009 Our Lord and Savior gently carried you home. You leave us memories of your sincere love of God, a loving and caring heart and always that big happy smile. Genevieve was born Jan. 3rd in Baribou, WI, 1909 to Joseph J. McEnaney and Emma Louise Volke. She was married in St. Paul, MN on May 27, 1929 to John (Frank) McCarthy and had a family of 7 children. She was preceded in death by husband Frank McCarthy and late husband Andy Hoffman, also daughter Dolly Webster, son Bob McCarthy and 2 son-in-laws Dick Webster and John Ehrler also a granddaughter, Debbie Romero. She leaves to cherish her memories her five living children: Betty Johnson (Ken) AK, Patricia Hoerling (Ken) MT, John McCarthy, Tacoma, Mary Ehrler, Tacoma, and Rose Sapp (Elden) MT, Phyllis McCarthy (daughter-in-law), Tacoma. She leaves 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. Genevieve also leaves an extended family Thersea Butterfield (Skip "deceased") VA, Peggy Erickson (Larry) Olympia, Andy (Verna) Hoffman "deceased", Donald Hoffman (Lorraine) Tacoma. A rosary will be prayed on Thursday 3/19/09 at 7:30 p.m. at Piper Morely Mellinger Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial 12:00 p.m. on 3/20/09 at Visitation Catholic Church. In her younger years, she would make cinnamon rolls and coffeecake, let us spend the night with her and she would read to us….above all kept a smile on our faces and laughed along with us all.
